Ici, les bosquets d&rsquo;eucalyptus pars\u00e8ment la vue sur les eaux de jade et de marine&nbsp;; les vents du large transportent l&rsquo;odeur de la sauge des collines ; et une faune rare de SoCal comme les lynx roux, les cailles, les sangliers et les roadrunners se prom\u00e8nent librement. Depuis qu&rsquo;il est enfant, Scott \u00ab Scojo \u00bb Claassen \u2013 chanteur, guitariste, clavi\u00e9riste et auteur-compositeur principal du groupe de surf-rock Scojo &amp; the Keel, bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Santa Barbara \u2013 a estim\u00e9 que cette r\u00e9gion repr\u00e9sentait un paradis o\u00f9 tout se sentait bien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott a cr\u00e9\u00e9 de nombreux souvenirs avec de chers amis dans cette \u00e9tendue idyllique. Malheureusement, l\u2019une d\u2019entre elles est r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e dans son sommeil, laissant derri\u00e8re elle une famille aimante. Pour g\u00e9rer la perte, Scott est retourn\u00e9 \u00e0 Gaviota. Le premier disque de Scojo &amp; the Keel, intitul\u00e9 \u00e0 juste titre Gaviota, est une collection de croquis et de sentiments provenant de cet espace sacr\u00e9 pendant une p\u00e9riode de r\u00e9flexion. \u00ab\u00a0Les chansons de Gaviota sont une tentative de traiter la perte personnelle et de la transformer en une musique exaltante en explorant la culture du surf et son potentiel de gu\u00e9rison\u00a0\u00bb, explique Scott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La musique l\u00e9g\u00e8re et bas\u00e9e sur les racines de Scojo &amp; the Keel et les paroles audacieusement vuln\u00e9rables de Scott ont valu au groupe des comparaisons avec un Jason Isbell \u00ab surf-rock \u00bb. Scott a \u00e9crit, chant\u00e9, produit et enregistr\u00e9 Gaviota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott est un musicien de longue date et un pr\u00eatre \u00e9piscopal bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Santa Barbara, en Californie.<br>Auparavant, Scott a travaill\u00e9 en session \u00e0 Nashville, a jou\u00e9 dans le Broken West sur Merge Records et a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ses chansons dans des films et des \u00e9missions de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, notamment Grey&rsquo;s Anatomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scojo &amp; the Keel s&rsquo;est form\u00e9 autour de la communaut\u00e9 eccl\u00e9siale o\u00f9 Scott est pr\u00eatre.<br>Ici, surf et spiritualit\u00e9 ont r\u00e9uni un formidable collectif de musiciens, dont le violoniste David Paul, professeur de musicologie, et le saxophoniste Dennis Berger qui a jou\u00e9 avec tout le monde, de Little Richard aux pionniers du jazz de la c\u00f4te ouest.
